"I believe that there is no universal approach to therapy. I tailor high quality sessions specifically for each client, to reflect his or her individual personality and needs."
About Negar
As someone who has walked the path of healing, I understand firsthand the impact that mental health can have on one's life. I've experienced my own journey of healing, and it has profoundly shaped my approach to therapy.
Coming from a multi-ethnic background, I embrace diverse cultures and perspectives in my approach to therapy.
Living and practicing in a vibrantly diverse region like Peel, I have the privilege of working with clients from a wide spectrum of cultural backgrounds, faiths, ages, walks of life and from across Canada . I understand that mental health is not experienced in a vacuum—it is deeply connected to our cultural roots, family expectations, systemic pressures, and the communities we belong to.
My practice is intentionally inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. Whether you are a first-generation Canadian navigating dual identities, a professional managing chronic burnout, or someone striving to break generational cycles, your entire identity is welcome, validated, and respected in our sessions.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I empower clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to foster positive change.
I am passionate about helping couples and families cultivate deeper connections, overcome obstacles and foster harmony in their relationships. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your concerns openly and without fear of criticism. Your well-being is my utmost priority, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
You don’t need a drink—you need to make peace with your past.
You don’t need another distraction—you need to heal.
You don’t need validation—you need to find yourself.
You don’t need another course—you need to connect with your heart.
My Professional Profile
Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
Yorkville University
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University. My education gave me a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and learning the most effective ways to support people through their toughest moments.
During my graduate education, I specialized coursework in the psychology of addiction. This targeted training allows me to deeply understand the complex biological, psychological, and systemic factors that drive substance use and behavioral addictions. Since then I have also studied dealing with Trauma clients and Immigrant/Refugee Populations accross Canada
EMDR Training (Certification in Process)
Leading Edge Seminars
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), hailed as an “indispensable modality of treatment” by the esteemed Bessel van der Kolk, offers my clients a way to safely process traumatic experiences.
Talk therapy is wonderful, but sometimes trauma and painful memories get "stuck" in our minds and bodies. To better support clients dealing with past trauma, I completed specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through Leading Edge Seminars. EMDR is a proven approach that helps your brain safely process difficult memories. It takes away the intense emotional "sting" of the past, helping you finally feel unstuck and ready to move forward.
